No Go! Us Eat You Up Us Love You So!

I took a recording last April while reading WTWTA to Milo, then two and a half. I want to upload the whole thing but it’s too big a file, so here’s a excerpt of my favorite part. I love that he says “us eat you up us love you so”. Mostly because it is ridiculously adorable, but also because with a kid his age, an error like this is possibly¬†a sign of greater comprehension than if he had parroted the words correctly: instead of memorizing the text,¬†his grammatical errors show that he has heard the story, understood it, and now is able to use his own words to retell it. Enjoy!

I’ve got a recording of reading the whole book with him. My imovie is malfunctioning right now, but once I figure that out, I have an idea for a project I want to do: pairing a slideshow of the illustrations from the book with the audio recording of Milo reading with me. :-)

Oh. Good point. I would have to post it on YouTube anyway and then embed the video in the blog because I can’t upload anything that big directly to the blog. There are lots of amateur videos of people reading children’s books and showing the pictures on YouTube. Maybe it’s not copyright infringement if I am not trying to pass it off as my own work?
